My name is Sally Jaquet and I am a Leith-based community musician and performer who believes music is for everyone. My projects include vocal and songwriting teaching, music & wellbeing workshops for school groups, businesses, choir leading, and music research and arts projects evaluation. I am always open and enthusiastic to collaborate with other musicians and local organisations on community projects

Do you know any young people who would like to sing in solidarity with the young people in Gaza? On the 22nd of February, we'll be meeting in Leith to learn a couple of songs, games, and dances - some Scots, Arabic, and Palestinan. This singing session has been brought about after Anne and Graham (@brycesonbikes) aimed to cycle to Palestine last year to fundraise and bring awareness to the suffering that is happening there. I know it's essentially February, but I just had a wee nice reflection on last year and all the lovely music I treasured in 2024. And hey, I guess the real treasure was the friends we made a long the way... 🎻 An incredible start to the year with all the families together for a wee hogmanay ceilidh - jaquets, Campbells, Butlers, Quartanos, Heavenors and pals all being wee Lismore babes 🥹 my little famalam singing Yarrow from the Carmina Gadelica 💜 Clare being a top pal and co-leader of Junior choir, keeping me sane by being constantly silly 🎸 Phil keeping it real with his BVs @midi.paul 🌻 all the giggles and sad songs with the happiest gal that ever did live @pollyanna_tatiana 🎶 Madonna on the streets of Edinburgh with the epi flash mob @thephoenixchoir 🍃 wholesome adventures around the land with the @singsongsupperclub 💍 honoured to be a part of the wedding for @rona1993 and sing with Choral Stim 💃🏻 always and forever ADORING singing with the KB Band and those utterly talented divas!

It's my Dad's 70th birthday today! Happy birthday big Simoney!! Mum and Dads love for, and playing of, music has had a huge influence on so much of who I am - can't wait to have a wee sing song today to celebrate 70 years of bashing out tunes and getting everyone to join in Last year, dad wrote a book/memoir/looooong playlist for Wildo of all the songs that have soundtracked his life - here's a wee snippet of some of his words

Heading into a week singing with the @scottishchamberorchestra - prepping for the New Vibe project, as well as our usual Castlebrae School Voices choir with their parents session tonight! I LOVE singing with these young people (especially when their music taste is so class that they ask for "I want it that way", "Hot to go", or "just anything by 'Big Thief'" for the warm up song) Thanks @amyfiona92 for the cute snap
